Say you're flying into London Heathrow, and think you have about 3-4 hours between flights. You're lucky enough to find yourself flying with British Airways into their new Terminal 5, smooth, clean and quiet. Filled with cool electronics stores, such as the Sony Style store which showcases their newest inventions, like their e-book reader and their super slim television. You stroll along and find the Dixon store with good prices on Sonys e-book reader (?? Strange, it is cheaper here than in the Sony store??), digital SLR cameras and active noise reduction headphones. Or you decide to lay down in one of the many leather sofas scattered around the terminal - if you're lucky enough to find one not yet inhabited by a hobo that is.
When it is time to show up at your gate, you find out that your plane has been hit by lightning, and the engineers are scrambled to figure out where, and what damage it did, and it destroyed part of the roof, so they have to replace that. So you have another three hours at the terminal. You decide that you've seen enough of the tax free stores, and decide to lay down for a bit, but since all the comfy leather coaches are occupied by hobos, you're left with the bench pictured here. Not the best, but far from the worst imaginable. See there's missing an arm rest? That's where your body will fit. Stick your left leg into the hole in one of two of the arm rests, place something soft under your head, something dark over your eyes, and some relaxing music in your ears - if you did not purchase one of the active noise reduction headphones from the tax free store. You now find yourself in a position well suited for a half-decent airport nap. Just make sure to allow some extra time to get out from that bench... (If you didn't understand how to fit yourself into the bench and arm rests, I'll put up an illustration later).
